BFS – Block Foam Systems

The Aptane® BFS product portfolio includes a range of two component block foam systems with densities and mechanical properties designed to suit the requirements of any application. The two main types of block foams are polyurethane (PUR) foam systems and polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam systems.

Aptane®BFS PUR foam products are used to produce pre-cut insulation foams for pipeline sections and joints on pipeline systems in LNG and chemical plants. PUR block foams produced with Aptane® BFS products can be cut to specified shapes and applied as required.

Aptane® BFS PIR foam products are also used to produce pre-cut insulation foams for pipeline sections and joints on pipeline systems in LNG and chemical plants.

However, the Aptane® BFS PIRfoam systems are used to produce products with lower Flame Spread and lower Smoke Developed indices when compared with PUR foam products. The PIR block foams produced with Aptane® BFS products can also be cut to specified shapes and applied as required. All of the Aptane® BFS series products are supplied HCFC free.

Aptane®BFSblock foams meet the stringent specification requirements expected by specifiers and engineers when designing chemical and gas processing plants. Aptane® BFS block foams can be designed to meet the individual requirements of each project. Typical properties of the Aptane® BFS PUR and PIR product range are detailed in the table below.
